Zelafrica Team had a Brief Chat with US Based Singer, Dede. He took us through his interesting Journey to Music and his Passion for it. Sit back and enjoy the Interview.

Thanks for taking out time to talk to us at ZELAFRICA, and of course to your Many Fans as well.
ZELAFRICA: Can you share a brief about your humble self?

My name is Dede Ofuonye. I hail from Delta state. Born and bred in Lagos. A BSc holder in Transport Management and Operations. Currently based in New York, USA.

ZELAFRICA: How was growing up like for you?

Growing up for me was difficult, challenging, was cool and fun too. Wasn’t easy considering being an average Nigerian. In fact, family was below average.

ZELAFRICA: When did your passion for music spring up?

Passion for music started back in 2005. I played with sounds alot back then. My vocal is were my strength lies. Started going to the studio back in 2008 and had my first recording the next year in 2009.

ZELAFRICA: We understand you are working on an album now, when should your fans expect it?

Yeah, I’m currently working on an album. Should be out next year but I got myself focused on my upcoming extended playlist (EP). Got 6/7 songs on it. Launching on 28th. So full album is next year.

ZELAFRICA: What are your challenges as regards doing Music?

Really don’t see the challenges. I know it’s difficult for an upcoming artist to break into that big level in the Nigerian Music Industry. But I’m certain of doing big things and getting full recognition, soonest of course. No negative vibes, no bad energy.

ZELAFRICA: Any of encouragement to young people who may also want to pursue music.

In few words, I can only say make sure you love what you doing. Make sure you got passion for music.

ZELAFRICA: Once again, Dede Thanks for speaking with us, We wish you more success in your Music career.

Thank you for this.
